Private Tea Ceremony Experience

Here you can experience an authentic tea ceremony. After passing through the roji (narrow garden path leading to the tearoom) and going through the proper tradition of purifying with a stone water basin, you enter the tearoom through Nijiriguchi (small doorway for guests).

(In case of rain, the explanation will be given from the tearoom)

The master demonstrates formal matcha making procedure and serve matcha to you. You will learn about the tea ceremony, manners in the tearoom as a guest, and experience making a bowl of matcha by yourself. You will have it with seasonal Japanese confectionery. 

Tea ceremony is a traditional Japanese culture and a comprehensive art form, including such as flowers for tea and the hanging scroll in the tearoom. Enjoy also learning the Zen spirit behind the tea ceremony. After the experience, you will feel as tranquil as after mindfulness meditation. (Around 1 hour depending on the number of people / From 2-6 persons)
